Rakkan keeps things minimal. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don’t sell data to advertisers.
To make the app work, Rakkan stores a few items in your browser’s local storage (not traditional tracking cookies):
These are essential to providing the service. Clearing your browser storage will sign you out and reset preferences.
On the website, we use Google Analytics to understand how Rakkan is used (which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from) so we can improve it. These analytics cookies are off by default and only load after you accept them in the cookie banner – until then no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice any time:
We don’t use analytics for advertising and don’t share it with advertisers. The mobile apps don’t use Google Analytics at all.
On the sign-in screen, Google may set cookies if you use Google Sign-In, Apple may set cookies if you use Sign in with Apple, and reCAPTCHA (Google) sets cookies needed to tell humans from bots – each governed by that provider’s policies. When you open Stripe Checkout to subscribe, Stripe sets its own cookies needed for secure payment and fraud prevention. GIF/sticker thumbnails are loaded from GIPHY when you open that picker, and fonts/icons/animated emoji load from Google and jsDelivr content-delivery networks. None of these are used by us for advertising or tracking.
