These Terms govern your use of Rakkan, a chat and translation service operated by PROWERK s.r.o. (“Rakkan”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Rakkan. By registering you confirm that you are.
Rakkan lets two people chat across languages, translating messages with the context of your relationship and showing a back-translation so you can verify your message before sending. It also offers voice messages with translated transcripts, spoken playback of messages, and peer-to-peer video calls with optional live translated captions. Translation, transcription and captions are performed by AI and may not always be perfectly accurate — do not rely on them for legal, medical, financial, or other critical communications, and verify important details independently.
You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.
You agree not to use Rakkan to: break the law; harass, abuse, threaten, or harm others; send content involving minors; infringe others’ rights; distribute malware or spam; attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service; or impersonate others. Conversations are between consenting adults who have accepted each other’s request.
Rakkan is an 18+ service. Because conversations are private and between consenting adults who have accepted each other’s request, Rakkan translates messages faithfully by default, including intimate or explicit content, so your meaning is preserved. Any user who prefers filtered translation can turn on Safe mode in Profile → Settings at any time. Regardless of any mode or setting, the following are strictly prohibited and lead to immediate account termination and, where required, reports to authorities: any sexual content involving minors, and non-consensual content of any kind.
You keep ownership of what you write. You grant us the limited right to process, transmit, store, and translate your content solely to provide the service to you and the person you’re chatting with (which involves AI processing as described in the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for the content you send.
Translations, transcriptions, captions, and extracted “memory” facts are generated by AI and are provided “as is” without warranty of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. The back-translation is a tool to help you check meaning, not a guarantee. The memory feature is designed to never store special-category personal data (health, religion, sexual orientation, political views, ethnicity, or criminal matters) about you or anyone you mention.
Rakkan offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (monthly or yearly, each with a “For two” option covering you and your partner) billed through Stripe. New accounts may receive a one-time, time-limited free trial of paid features, after which the account continues on the free tier unless you subscribe. Paid plans renew automatically each period until cancelled; you can cancel anytime from the app and retain access until the end of the current period. Prices are shown before purchase. As an EU consumer you may have a statutory right of withdrawal; by starting a digital subscription immediately you may consent to begin before the withdrawal period ends. Taxes (VAT) may apply.
Plans differ in how many chats are unlimited and how many captioned call minutes are included. Beyond plan limits the service is never cut off — additional chats simply continue at a reduced message rate. To keep the service affordable for everyone we may apply reasonable fair-use measures to exceptional AI usage (such as routing some translations to a lighter model); these never block you from messaging.
You may stop using Rakkan and delete your account at any time (Profile → Account). We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to comply with the law.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for outcomes arising from translation inaccuracies. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including your mandatory consumer rights).
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic and applicable EU law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
